Trying to beat the heat?
Here are a few beaches you can go to close to Cambridge and Somerville.

Shannon Beach at Mystic Lakes (Medford/Winchester)

This is a 15 minute drive or a 30-40 minute ride via MBTA bus route.

Carson Beach and Pleasure Bay

20 minute drive or take the red line to JFK/UMASS

Featuring a beautiful boardwalk and Castle Island

Nantasket Beach

1 hour drive with paid parking lots all around. Definitely would stay away from street parking, they are reserved for locals only.

This is a little further than these two beaches above but is worth it! They have a walking path and great waters for families. Along the boardwalk are some great restaurants and fun arcade shops.

There are so many other beaches all around Massachusetts like Cape Cod, Constitution Beach, Revere Beach, and more!
